Protein shakes, Weight gainers, and Calorie
When trying to add muscle it can be hard work to get enough calories on board. We all know that overall calories are important, likely even more so than having the right supplements to hand. But get both of these factors right and you could be on to a winning combination. You could be wasting much of your hard earned cash on supplements if you are not simply eating enough.
But what if we could get the perfect supplement that could achieve both goals? Well a blended protein shake or a weight gainer shake can do just this. It might be the one and only supplement that you invest in, possible alongside some simple creatine monohydrate. You see we know we need to get plenty of protein and carbohydrates in to the mix to make the process of gaining muscle a successful one. But we are often limited by how much we can eat. Regardless of how good our training program is, how good our diet is, if we don’t get enough calories on board we might be short changing the result we are able to achieve.
Just think how convenient it would be to have a drink that could pack 400-700 calories into your body in a matter of seconds. You don’t even need to cook, take time out to eat, or prepare anything of significance; you just add water or milk and get drinking. For the individual that sometimes struggles to get enough food on board due to a weak appetite or due to time a weight gainer shake or blended protein shake can be ideal. Especially if you are able to mix this shake with whole milk, a very calorie dense and powerful anabolic fuel source when trying to gain quality weight.
For years weight gainer shakes have been used as a simple way to increase the amount of calories one can consume over the course of a day. Sometimes it’s not convenient to keep eating all day, sometimes it’s just not possible to have the time and money. Which is really another benefit to having a weight gainer shake, it can work out to be super cheap in comparison to many whole food sources. The only caveat with choosing a weight gainer shake or a blended protein shake is to ensure it does not have any very fast acting carbohydrates in it unless you are using it post workout. Otherwise, over time, you are likely to gain more fat than muscle due to the effect such simple sugars will have on your day long insulin levels. The more we can control insulin throughout the day, not after training, the better our muscle gains will be above that of fat gains.
So grab a tasty flavour, grab a shaker, grab some whole milk, and get mixing and get that body on to the bigger, better and stronger road.
